BeniHana - Fun Fun Fun!

Ok I have to be honest...I was apprehensive when Rt suggested dinner at BeniHana last Thursday.

I’m not a Sushi fan and I know neither is she. So the only thing that was reassuring was that she knew what she was gonna eat which would be what I would eat.

Stace the usual carefree bird was fine with anything....and in any case she doesn’t mind seafood.

In any case just to be sure I checked with Vaishali about the place before I left home, since she had been there a few weeks bad. The suggestion was to have a nice snack before leaving, which I think was a good idea. Not for any other reason but just that it took time for everyone to assemble around the 'entertainment for the eve'.

The place...hmmmm....nice
The ambience....very interesting
The food.....appetizing
The experience............out of this world!!!!!

It was amazing to watch an expert 'perform'. Gosh I still cant get over how quick he was with the knives.

All in all...both a Visual and Oral delight.....yummmmmmm

How do so many people know RP?

He does it again!

We had been warned….somebody’s going to get hurt and sure he did hurt the insides of our stomach with all the laughing!

Russell Peters was the showman we had expected him to be and better….what more proof did anyone want than that he came to Dubai for ONE SHOW and ended up doing FOUR SHOWS!!?!

The fight was the tix was an emotional rollercoaster. With friends trying the hotline, online tix and I personally lining up at Virgin the hopes were high….

And then….crashed down! We didn’t get tix…we were upset, heartbroken but well we tried…

The comes the news of an additional show…again 12am everyone’s busy clicking in on the Timeout website trying to get tix for the show on Monday, 12th March.

Again the emotional rollercoaster is on….we get the news that a friend has managed to book tix but has not yet received email confirmation for the sale….finger, toes, arms and legs…you name it they are all crossed!

Then comes an update…the amount for the tix has been credited…Yay!! Spirits are high again…

But wait….then comes the steep fall….TIMEOUT apologies due to system error tix have been oversold…refunds will be given.

An outcry from us…why o why?! And then…ting! Good news!! We get tix!! Yay!!

Now for the show…MIND-BLASTING (in Russell’s words). It was the best thing ever to see the guy Live!

People had been warned but I was caught off-guard when I heard him use words like P**** and Blow*** in Dubai. Not to add the visuals accompanied were both unexpected and hilarious.

Loved him picking on EVERYBODY and I mean even the Arabs…oops EMIRATIESS!

I think by far the story of the invention of ‘Zero’ was the best thing I took home

Cheers Russell…Love you even more! Muuuuuaaaaaaaahhh!!

Hope to catch your show on my trip to Toronto….

Best and Up-Comming Individual - 2006

Oh My God!!!

These were my first thoughts....I was just too shocked...didn't know to laugh out or cry or to scream out loud....

It was the annual TNS kick-off meeting and we were reviewing our previous years performance. It was great to see and know how much we have all contributed towards the company's growth.

But i couldn't help remember the stress, the tears, the fights, the arguments, the tension, the palpitations....it was all still too fresh.

I had come back from my break looking for a fresh start...rather more like a refreshed start. I wanted to take things easier...I had burnt too much of the mid-night oil as the rest of the team had and thought it was time to slow down for a while.

I cant say I felt dissatisfied or unappreciated. Nilanjan has been a total star with always reminding each of us how he appreciates our work. Also when you see him putting in so much time and effort into his work it only motivates you to work harder. You know hes not only a team leader but a team driver too....he didn't only tell us and lead us but also worked with us shoulder to shoulder...

But there was still this emptiness...a lack of motivation setting in that at the end of the day your only a tiny speck in the big picture.

But the award changed it all....I remember Steve's words faintly (although I wish I had paid more attention....I jus didn't know he was talkin bout me!)

He said something along the lines of 'this individual is someone who thinks she is not appreciated enough...' and i think that was strike on! I could smile and say ....no its not so...but honestly...it was the feeling exactly!

And after this award...all I would like to say is....thank you TNS...and THANK YOU STEVE HAMILTON-CLARK!!
